FROM THE BOY: Welcome to One Track Minds. I'll start by telling you who we aren't. We aren't O-Dub at Soul Sides, or John at Tofu Hut, or Sasha Frere-Jones at Sticker Shock (but you should read their blogs, linked at left). We ARE hopeless poseurs with crossed fingers and hopefully enough sexual innuendo and tension to make our MARS vs. VENUS posts about music entertaining. (If you're an established audio blogger and you like what we say, we'd be humbled if you'd add us to your links. We will certainly link to you.) Our plan is to update this baby at least once a week, maybe twice. Boys like some stuff, girls like some stuff, we all like some stuff, but nobody really knows why. Especially not us. What we hope to do is argue about it colorfully. Cross your fingers for us. Hopefully we'll say something interesting while we stroke our own egos and hurt each other's feelings. Which, by the way, I will warn you, we are incredibly good at. And no, actually, I haven't slept with the girl. Though it sure seems like I should have at some point.
FROM THE GIRL: I think that just about covers it. I will add that while I may be a poseur, I am most certainly not hopeless. He's on his own there. Between us both, we have listened to a century's worth of music since puberty, and we approach it from our own delightfully different viewpoints. Sometimes we meet in the middle, most of the time we don't. Which may be why we never had sex — we couldn't agree on a soundtrack.
Good Jam, fix'n to stick it in the I-POD
